6 June 2019 - The rear end. Hmm...

If you've seen the earlier parts of this diary, you may remember the thing in the boot. Well, more like the thing not in the boot! We have started on it.

Marked out and drilled. Unfortunately the floor wasn't the only thing drilled, as someone who shall remain nameless (here's a clue-it wasn't me) forgot to remove the spare wheel. :wall: Anyone have a spare going spare? I could do with one.

It's worse than we thought, Captain!

And as it stands now.

Hopefully will have new metal going in at the weekend, weather permitting.

That's all for now, tune in next week for some more shocking stories! :corn:

P.S. I have further developed my plan for the spotlight covers.....keep watching.

The next week...

This, boys and girls, is why it's important to protect the edges of any holes drilled through bodywork. The rust started where the cable for the towbar passed through.

I've spent a cold afternoon, knocking bubbles off from under the boot floor. It was going well, with only a tiny hole uncovered then the chisel went through, revealing the above hole.

I'm getting fed up with all the rust, better 900s than this are being scrapped. Still, we've done so much so far I suppose we'd better carry on but I'm not enjoying it in the slightest at the moment.

And it gets worse...

I'm hoping these are the last big holes I'm going to find in the boot. The fuel tank needs to come off to access the rust and for the obvious safety reasons!

The rear wing (inner and outer) doesn't look too healthy either. It's not going to be on the road this year.
